“No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

Matthew 9:16-17 NIV

When was a time you bought something new or developed something new and completely made the old thing or way obsolete/impractical?

What are some things people try to blend from their old lives with the new ways with Jesus wants them to operate?

What is something you had to embrace as new with Jesus that was different than your normal way of living?  Were you glad you made the switch?

What are some old things the church has embraced but doesn’t seem to fit with the new things Jesus wants the church to embrace?

What are some new ideas the church could adopt but might fly in the face of the old way(s) of doing things?
